The Hoima Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Hajj Badru Mugabi has declined to commission a main building constructed at Kihuukya Health Centre III located in Hoima West division in Hoima City over shoddy works.
Speaking to Journalists following the commissioning of several facilities across Hoima East and West divisions on Wednesday, Mugabi revealed that he could not commission the structure due to the incomplete and shoddy works at the facility.
Mugabi revealed that they found the tank installed was releasing water endlessly, the ineffective lighting system as well as the incomplete ramp used by persons with disabilities to access the facility.
Mugabi noted that as office of the president, they follow guidelines when commissioning different guidelines and what they found at Kihukya did not meet the standards and there was no value for money saying they have instructed the contractor to rectify the anomilies discovered at the facilities.
Meanwhile, the RCC joined by other City leaders, commissioned a renovated classroom block at Parajwoki primary school, a gate at Buhanika health centre II and a renovated classroom block and at Kabaale primary school.
Edward Isingoma commended government for the facilities that are boosting service delivery and called for improvement in performance especially in schools in the city.
Bosco Muhanuzi and Julius Kyomuhendo the Hoima East and West division respectively hailed government for the facilities and tasked the schools and health center leaders to look after the new structures norder to serve their purpose.
