Shock and grief filled residents of Busisi East cell in Hoima East division in Hoima City after they discovered a body of woman in a rented house in the area.
The deceased has been identified as Sharon Brenda in her 30’s, a driver of waste trucks working with Enviroserv Company.
Information gathered by Spice FM reveals that the deceased who was staying alone has been missing for more than three days both at work and in the cell which prompted her supervisor to begin a search for her.
After several attempts to reach her on phone and other searches in vain, the supervisor decided to come to Busisi where she had rented and only to be welcomed by a strange smell which indicated that the person had died for some days.
Speaking to the area Chairperson Godfrey Mbabazi, says he received a call from an identified person at around 7:30pm yesterday informing him of a dead body in the house located in his area which prompted him to call police immediately for help.
Mbabazi adds that, following police’s arrival at around 9pm, they cut all padlocks to access the rented room only to discover a decomposing body which was later conveyed to Hoima City mortuary pending postmoterm examination.
Mbabazi has called for neighbourhood watch among individuals staying in rented houses adding that some people stay on houses without any contacts of their immediate neighbours or knowing some details about them, which he says are crucial during emergencies.
By the time of filling this story, police had not issued an official statement over the incidemt.
