BUL Football Club confirms that Coach Alex Isabirye has re-joined the Eastern Giants as the team manager on a two-year renewable contract, and he assumes his duties immediately.

He comes in as a replacement for the recently released Abbey Kikomeko Bogere who parted ways with the club twelve days ago.

The experienced tactician will be tasked to salvage some positives from the Uganda premier league where the team lies 12th with 10 points after 11 games.

His backroom staff will be confirmed and announced in the due course.

Isabirye’s first era at the club was between 2015 and 2016. With fond memories of his top-notch professionalism and enviable hard work, he was re-signed as our head coach in April 2021 to oversee the remaining nine Uganda premier league matches for the 2020/21 season.

He was then offered a new two-year contract after four months, and guided the club to the Uganda Cup title the following campaign, with the Eastern Giants ultimately qualifying for, and playing in the CAF Confederations Cup for the first time – under his stewardship before he was snatched in March 2023 by Vipers SC for whom he won a double (league and Uganda Cup) that very season.

Isabirye is also a previous Uganda Cup winner with SC Victoria University, and a league champion with URA FC.

Furthermore, the CAF A gaffer coached Nyamityobora, Kyetume, Busoga United, Tooro United, Express FC, Somalia premier league side Horseed, and the Buganda province team in the FUFA Drum tournament, in the past.

The immediate game at his disposal is against Calvary on January 7, 2026.
