Sir Tito Winyi Secondary School playground has this morning been handed over to National Council of Sports -NCS for upgrade ahead of AFCON games in 2027.
Sir Tito Winyi SS training ground is one of the designated training facilities for teams coming to Hoima for AFCON. The government allocated Shs13.2 billion for each AFCON training site in Hoima, Gulu, Lira, and Pace, and the UPDF Engineering Brigade is set to construct it within 6 months.
The area covers 100 acres and after AFCON games, the site will become a National Sports Academy with 6 more training pitches, including basketball, volleyball courts among others. The facility will be attached to the Hoima City Stadium. The
NCS has also in turn handed over the site to UPDF Engineering Brigade to kickoff the construction works ahead of the AFCON games.
