Uganda’s Prime Minister and Kakumiro District Woman MP, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, has urged all women across the Hoima Catholic Diocese and the country at large to embrace hard work as a way of achieving financial independence and improving income-generating activities within their families.
The Prime Minister made the remarks today while speaking as the chief guest at the closing of the 7th Annual Conference, Exhibition, and Celebration of the Diocesan Women’s Day, organized by the Hoima Catholic Diocese through its umbrella body, the Hoima Diocese Catholic Women Apostolate (HODICWA).
The conference, which began on 24th August 2026 and ended today 27th August 2026, was held under the theme: “Contribute towards Community Development and Transformation through Skills Development and Training among Women in Hoima Catholic Diocese.”
Nabbanja said women are the foundation of development in families and communities.
She urged them to raise children with good morals, cooperate with their husbands, and respect them.
The Prime Minister also encouraged women to take advantage of government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and the Women Funds, saying the NRM government introduced them to help people improve their livelihoods.
In conclusion, Nabbanja urged women to actively participate in the second National Cleaning Day exercise scheduled for 29th August 2026.
In his homily, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Robert Mugisa, the Vicar General of Hoima Catholic Diocese, asked women to embrace daily prayers and to remain persistent in everything they do, saying this will help them succeed in life.
