Two suspected thieves have been killed by unknown people after being caught attempting to break into one of the residents’ home in Hoima City.
The incident occurred in Bujumbura East in Hoima West division in the wee hours of Friday morning.
According to the residents, the thieves have been targeting and terrorizing their area for the past months, stealing several items while leaving the victims seriously injured, and even resulting into some of them losing their lives, which caused unrest in the area.
Information available reveals that a gang of about five suspected thieves attacked the area targeting an operator of a bar at Kitahuruzo in Bujumbura East at around 4am forcing the victim to make alarms before a group of people quickly mobilized themselves and arrested two of the thieves.
Asiimwe Kasim, the Area defense secretary says the two suspected thieves were beaten to death while their colleagues escaped for their lives saying they informed police about the incident.
By the time of filling this story, Police had not arrived at the crime scene.
