The State Minister for Works and Transport, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bugangaizi West constituency in Kakumiro District, Fred Byamukama, has urged all newly elected NRM leaders in Kagadi District to prioritize the fight against corruption in order to improve service delivery.
Byamukama made the call last evening while addressing Kagadi leaders at URDT Multipurpose Hall during a ceremony held to celebrate the victory of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who secured 71.65 percent of the vote in the last elections.
He emphasized that in the new term of office, there must be zero tolerance to corruption at all levels, noting that effective service delivery in Kagadi will only be achieved if corruption is eliminated.
The minister also called for unity and cooperation among leaders, urging them to shift their focus from politics to service delivery now that the election period ended.
He further assured residents of Kagadi that government is committed to fulfilling its pledges, including the tarmacking of the Muhooro–Ndaiga Road, upgrading Kagadi General Hospital to a regional referral Hospital, and improving the Isunga–Kikwaya Road.
He noted that these projects are in line with commitments made by the President to religious leaders in the district.
