Leaders in Masindi district on Tuesday launched a second phase construction of Kijunjubwa Seed Secondary School in Kijubjubwa Town Council in Buruli County.

The Shs1.6 billion completion of the construction works under Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Programme (UGIFT) Project has been awarded to Imperial Construction Technical Services Limited and will take two and half months.

Initially, CMD Investments Ltd was awarded the above project but couldn’t complete it within the stipulated period of two and half years.

Moses Kiwanika Ssebyala, the director of CMD Investments Limited told Spice FM last year that they had internal challenges that hindered them from completing the project within the projected period.

He also blamed the delayed release of structural designs and commissioning for the commencement of construction as some of the factors contributing to the delayed completion of the project.

Now, on Tuesday, the district authorities handed over the project to Imperial Construction Technical Services Limited to complete the construction works.

Sheillah Maali, the Operations Manager at Imperial Construction Technical Services Limited who represented the Contractor, assured the leaders that their company will execute the project within the stipulated time and have it completed.
She also pledged that they would deliver timely and quality work.

Samson Natsambwa, the Deputy CAO said the contractor would be paid after completing the work thus appealed to the contractor to ensure they deliver quality work and work within stipulated period of time.

He also appealed to the stakeholders to monitor and support the contractor in order to deliver quality work.

Monica Kiiza, the Acting District Education Officer expressed her excitement after the construction project commenced and appreciated the district and government for funding the project.

Kiiza said that parents and guardians have been injecting a lot of money seeking for secondary education thus appealed to parents to take their children to Kijunjubwa Seed SS.

She therefore appealed to the parents to desist from engaging their children in labor stressing that it affects their education concentration.
