Uganda Olympics Committee-UOC has flagged off the first bunch of athletes for the month-long training in Tokyo, Japan ahead of the Olympics in July this year.
The Minister of Sports designate, Hamson Obua and Uganda Olympics Committee Chairman, Donald Rukare and a team of officials from the National Council of Sports flagged off the five athletes from three disciplines.
The athletes included Shadir Musa, Catherine Nanziri and David Ssemujju, all boxers, Julius Ssekitoleko weight lifting and Atuhaire Ambare, a swimmer.
