Two people are in custody at the Kibaale central police station for allegedly murdering a 14-year-old boy. The suspects have been identified as Mbabazi Mwesige and Bosco, both residents of Kitutu trading centre, Karama sub-county in Kibaale district.
The duo is accused of killing Alex Akandwanaho, a resident of the same area.
It is alleged that the two suspects, in the wee hours of Friday morning at around 1 a.m. while in one of the bars in Kitutu trading center developed a misunderstanding over yet to be identified girl. They reportedly hit Akandwanaho with a blunt object on the head, killing him instantly.
The police, with the help of the residents, arrested the two suspects, who were immediately whisked to the Kibaale police station, where they are currently being detained.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says murder charges have already been preferred against the suspects.
