Five People Stabbed in Hoima

Five people were last night stabbed and sustained serious injuries during a disco that was held in Kakindo cell, Bulindi Town Council in Hoima district.

The disco followed a political rally that had been held in the area by the Incumbent area Member of Parliament Pius Wakabi Rujumba who is seeking re-election for the same seat.

The victims are Tumwesige Brian 24 year old, a resident of Kyakamese village, Tuhaise Vincent 23 years a casual Laborer at a local Farm in Kakindo cell, Asinguza Geofrey a 28 year old who is a resident of Nyakakonge cell, Amanyire Ronald .24, a resident of Kakindo cell and another unidentified male adult.

Brian Tumwesige, one of the victims while speaking to Spice FM at Hoima regional referral hospital where he is currently receiving treatment said he got into a misunderstanding with one of the attackers who ended up stabbing him in the abdomen leaving him with serious injuries.

Abel Baguma, the Security Chairperson for Kakindo cell, has disclosed that, the unknown attackers are said to be originating from Ndaragi and Kiweera villages in Kyabigambire Sub County adding that this is not the first time such acts to happen in the area.

He has wondered what intentions are always carried by such suspected criminals adding that security teams in the district need to step up and ensure such people are arrested and punished accordingly.

Pius Wakabi Rujumba, the Bugahya county Member of Parliament has condemned such acts and urged locals to embrace peaceful electoral process that is free from violence.

Julius Allan Hakiiza the Albertine regional police spokesperson who has visited the affected victims at Hoima regional referral hospital has confirmed the incident adding that investigations are underway and he will avail more details in due course.
