The police in Hoima city are still hunting for a vehicle driver who knocked down and killed a 14-year-old senior two girl in Kyesiiga cell, in Hoima West division in Hoima City.
According, Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine region police spokesperson during the Monday weekly press briefing at the Albertine region police headquarters in Hoima City.
Hakiza identified the deceased as Witney Atuhura who was walking by the roadside at 17:00 hours on Saturday when a Nissan vehicle registration number UAV 871 R knocked him.
Hakiza added that the body was handed over to the relatives for burial and the vehicle is parked at Hoima central police station but its driver is still on the run.
Meanwhile, the police in Kiryandongo district are investigating circumstances under which a 30-year-old man was killed by a mob on allegations of motorcycle theft.
Hakiza identified the deceased as Jasper Akola who was bitten on Saturday at around 8:50 am in Wakisanyi trading center.
