Three Perish in Hoima City Accident

Three people died on Thursday while another is seriously injured after being involved in a nasty accident along Hoima- Fort Portal Road in Kiryatete near JPK Hardware in Hoima City.

The deceased are John Irumba, a boda boda and resident of Busisi cell, Julius Tibenda, a boda boda cyclist and resident of Buswekera Cell and Ethan Baguma Darius a three-year-old male juvenile who was a passenger. The injured is Kasemire Fiona a 30-year-old.

The accident which occurred at around 11:40am involved a vehicle and three motorcycles. The vehicle is a Fuso truck with registration number UBN 563R Fuso (white)
while the motorcycles are tricycle UFX 656F, Bajaj Boxer UEZ 041C
and another UGD 490W Bajaj Boxer

Eyewitnesses revealed that the driver of UBN 563R allegedly lost control and rammed into the motorcycles, resulting in fatalities and injuries.

Julius Allan Hakiiza the Albertine region police spokesperson revealed that Police visited the scene headed by ASP Kakooza Emmanuel and Bodies are currently at city mortally pending
postmortem and the Vehicles are parked at Hoima CPS pending inspection.

He adds that the driver is still at large and Inquiries are currently underway to determine the cause of the accident and bring the perpetrator to justice.
