Museveni Orders for Investigations in the Embezzlement of PDM Funds in Kyankwanzi

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed the head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit Brigadier Henry Isoke to swiftly investigate cases of alleged embezzlement of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds in Kyankwanzi district.

The President made the directive on Tuesday as he kicked off his parish development model tour in greater Mubende district with his first stop at the home of a local farmer Patrick Matovu a resident of Bugomolwa central, Nkandwa sub county in Kyankwanzi district who borrowed one million shillings from the Parish Development Model Fund, established a local chicken poultry farm and has since witness increasing income.

This directive came after district leaders reported to the president, individuals that stole over 50 million shillings from beneficiaries by altering IDs and phone numbers of rightful beneficiaries

Leaders including Kyankwanzi district Woman MPs Christine Bukenya and Ann Nankabirwa the NRM district chairperson report to the president that several would be beneficiaries of the program had missed out after the funds were embezzled by program implementers who tampered with their information.

In response the president directed the State House Anti-Corruption Unit Head.00 Brigadier Henry Isoke to begin investigating the matter starting tomorrow Wednesday.

He has challenged the people not to hesitate reporting PDM funds thieves and promised their arrest.

Meanwhile President Museveni expressed optimism that each parish will have hit 800 million shillings mark in the third year running of the PDM initiative if beneficiaries stick to the fund’s management guidelines

He however called on beneficiaries to strictly adhere to the fund’s management guidelines and start to repay their loans by the second years the fund will have a significant resource envelope of about 800 million shillings per parish

The president has promised to ensure increment of the PDM funds allocation to about 200 million shillings per Parish after the forthcoming General elections
