Hoima East city division councilors are accusing Hoima city leadership of creating an information gap between the divisions crippling service delivery.

Speaking during the division’s council siting held Thursday at Hoima Resort hotel, Lawrence Katwesige one of the councilors wonders why the city is evicting street vendors saying recently the city executive and that of the division agreed that the street vendors be allowed to make some money during the Christmas festival.

He adds that it was agreed that the vendors would be evicted in January after sensitization as part of efforts to bring sanity in the city.

He says the city has now embarked on evicting the street vendors.

Gabriel Dema, the councilor for Central Ward and also secretary for finance and planning Hoima East Division Council describes the ongoing eviction of road venders as illegal.

Abubakar Busobozi the Northern Ward Councilor explains that most vendors are selling their items from where they are not supposed to be according to the city trade order but were only allowed to operate this December then in January they vacate.

However, Busobozi says some of the resolutions they make are being frustrated by the city leadership which is seriously affecting service delivery in the division.

Bosco Muhanuzi the mayor Hoima east division wonders why the city leadership has since January been silent on the issue of evicting road side vendors but then come up at such a time when the vendors are making some good money to evict them.

Efforts to get a comment from the city clerk Godfrey Kiseka were futile by the time of filling this story.
