The Albertine Police Flying Squad Unit in collaboration with Police of Hoima CPS have intercepted a Noah vehicle carrying two suspected stolen cows in the Hoima City and arrested three suspected thieves.
The suspects were intercepted at about 6:30 am along the Hoima-Fort Portal Road in Busisi cell, Hoima West division, following intelligence received by police about suspected cattle thieves transporting animals in a vehicle
Speaking to journalists this morning, SP Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Regional Police Spokesperson revealed that the Flying Squad got a tip that there was a Noah model vehicle with registration number UA 159AY that was carrying suspected stolen animals along Hoima Fortportal road in Kasingo cell in Hoima West division.
Hakiiza says the team swung in action and rushed to the scene, mounted a roadblock along the road and intercepted the vehicle immediately and arrested three suspects who were travelling in the same vehicle.
He added that more information of who are the owners of the cows, the vehicles among others will be given after interrogation of the suspects and scene reconstruction.
Meanwhile, hundreds of angry residents stormed the Albertine Police Headquarters in an attempt to lynch three suspected cattle thieves arrested while transporting the two suspected cows.
