unyoro Kitara Kingdom in conjunction with the family of Isaac Kalembe Biromaiso on Tuesday afternoon released the burial program for the former Omutalindwa of Orukurato rw’obukama.
According to the program, there is a planned church service at St Peter’s COU Nsumbi, Kyebando in Nansana Muncipality on Wednesday August 19, 2026 and thereafter, a vigil at his home in Nsumbi Kyebando Nansana.
The program further reveals there will be a Memorial service at Bunyoro Kitara Headquarters at Rukurato Hall in Hoima City at 11am and later proceed for a church service at St. Peters Cathedral Duhaga at 2pm and afterwards a vigil at his home at Dwoli West Kiragura Parish Kitoba Sub County in Hoima district.
The late Kalembe will be laid to rest on Friday August 21, 2026 at his ancestral Home in Dwoli West Kiragura Parish Kitoba Sub County Hoima Town city.
While addressing Journalists at the Kingdom offices along Rukurato road on Tuesday afternoon, Owek.Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi, the premier (Omuhikirwa) has eulogized the late Kalembe as a key and respected Ugandan writer, historian, and cultural commentator especially known for his work on Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom and African history
According to the Kingdom prime minister, Owek Kalembe through his writings documented Bunyoro traditions, clan histories, naming practices, and the local brew known as tonto and brewing culture.
The late was also a legendary Journalist who worked with Bunyoro Broadcasting services as an editor and later became the Station manager.
The Late was born in 1958 and died on Tuesday Morning after a long battle with Diabetes.
