The Hoima City Education officer (CEO) Mr. Johnson Kusiima Baingana has tasked all supervisors and invigilators in the upcoming primary leaving examinations (PLE) writing exercise to ensure they do not contribute in any form of examination malpractices.
All primary seven candidates across the country will undergo a briefing exercise this Friday before they begin writing their final exams on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Kusiima Baingana while speaking to Spice FM in an exclusive interview on Wednesday afternoon revealed that all teachers and other examination officials were briefed on Monday regarding the Uganda National Examination guidelines and therefore, they should stick to their role adding that any individual who will be caught helping out a school or any candidate will be dealt with according to the law.
The Hoima City Education Officer has disclosed that a total of 3,501 candidates have been prepared by their teachers in government and private schools and are expected to turn up for this year’s primary leaving examinations in 35 examination centres.
He has urged parents to provide the necessary support to all their children to ensure they successfully sit for their exams.
He has also warned schools against blocking any candidate with fees balance adding that school authorities can always collaborate with UNEB upon release of the examination results to ensure the candidates with fees balances to only access their results after clearing but not blocking them from sitting for their examinations.
