Kitara have been drawn away in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 against FUFA Big league entity, Gaddafi FC.
This is the third straight time Kitara will be playing away, they eliminated Young Simba and CATDA FC in the round of 64 and 32 in Bombo and Bugolobi respectively.
The Royals will be facing Gaddafi FC for the second time in this competition with their first encounter ending 2-0 in favor of Kitara last year at Masindi stadium.
George Senkaaba and Denis Omedi scored for Kitara.
To progress to this stage, the Royals eliminated CATDA FC and will be aiming to continue their title defense when they visit the Entebbe Works playground.
Meanwhile, Allan Kabonge’s side beat Bushenyi Veterans FC 1-3 in the round of 32 last month but have since gone ahead to lose two straight league games to Kaaro Karungi and Kigezi Homeboys FC.
However, they have a number of players who have featured in the topflight before such as Davis Kasirye, Simon Namwanja, Ahmed Amayo, Duncan Sseninde, Tom Kakaire, Muhammad Ssekeba among others whom Kabonge will look to for inspiration.
In the other fixtures, Maroons will be at home to Police FC in an all-Uganda Premier League affair, Karo Karungi will face UPDF FC, KCCA FC will play Rwenzori Lions, BUL FC will host Total FC, URA FC will play Kataka FC while Lugazi will be up against SC Villa.
According to FUFA Competitions Director, the Round of 16 games will be played between 17-21 March 2025.
