Masindi Municipal Council Launches Construction of Shs1.86B Educational Projects

The Masindi Municipal Council has launched six construction projects for different schools for the Financial Year 2024/25 worth Shs1.86 billion.

The capital projects being implemented under the School Facility Grant and School Maintenance Grants were launched on Tuesday at the Municipal Chambers.

These projects include; the construction of five stance pit latrine at Masindi Town Model Primary School for pupils, two stance pit latrines at Kabalega Primary School for staff members, two stance pit latrines at Nyamigisa Boys Primary School also for staff members, two stance pit latrine at Rwijere Primary School for staff members, two stance pit latrine at Kibwona Primary School for staff and renovation of three classroom block at Kyema Primary School.

While launching the projects, Ayebale Sam Peter, the municipal principal education officer applauded the council for approving the proposal to construct the pit latrines and renovate a classroom block at Kyema Primary School.

Without disclosing the time frame for the projects, Ayebale said implementation of the six projects would commence immediately after the launch and will be done by different contractors.

Ronald Businge Kyomuhendo, the Masindi municipal mayor warned the contractors against shoddy work so that they account for the funds.
