Three suspects are in custody at Kibaale central police station for the alleged murder of a woman. Two of the suspects are Geofrey Ssegawa and Leonard Mukisa, both residents of Kasungwa village in Kabasekende sub-county. The third suspect is yet to be identified.

The suspects are accused of brutally murdering Korodina Muhebwe, a resident of the same area. The incident happened on Saturday night.  Information obtained by Spice FM reveals that the suspects with others still at large, coordinated, planned, connived, and murdered Muhebwe.

They reportedly waylaid the deceased as she was heading home from the Kabasekende trading center and strangled her to death. They later dumped her body in the Nyamususu swamp. Anaclet Kaahwa, the deceased’s husband says, he waited for his wife to come back home in vain. He was later compelled to report the matter to police who promptly swung into action and commenced investigations.

Later area residents together with the police found the deceased body had been dumped in Nyamususu swamp on Sunday morning. Moses Kitamirike, the Kibaale District Police Commander (DPC) says they have been able to apprehend three suspects to help police with investigations.

According to Kitamirike, the deceased body had bruises in the neck and face an indication that she could have been strangled by her attackers who later dumped the body in the swamp.

He says the hunt for other suspects believed to have participated in the murder is ongoing appealing to members of the public to cooperate with security by availing crucial information that could lead to the arrest of more suspects.

He stated that those arrested will be arraigned before being charged with murder once investigations are done. The deceased body was picked up by the police who conveyed it to Kibaale Health Center IV for postmortem and later it was handed over to the relatives for burial arrangements.
