Hoima Stadium Construction: Hundreds Register for Recruitment as Casual Laborers

Hundreds of people have this morning flocked Kyarwiru cell in Hoima East division Hoima City seeking for employment opportunities at the Hoima National stadium construction site.

Residents mainly from Hoima City, Kikuube and Hoima district were by 7am already at the construction site awaiting to register their names.

Sources from the area reveal that MS Suma, a Turkish company contracted to construct the stadium is seeking to recruit casual labor as earth works of bush clearing kick off at the site.

Speaking to our reporter, some of the people who turned up expressed hope of securing employment opportunities while others cast doubt if they will be called up after registering their names.

Steven Ahumuza, from Kiryabana village says he has undergone a security training and is seeking an employment opportunity in the security sector.

Innocent Atugonza, a resident of Kiryabana in Hoima East division asked leaders to support them to secure employment opportunities casting doubt if they will be called up after they have registered their names.

Sources who spoke to Spice FM say those being registered must be residents of Hoima and will undergo a medical checkup before they are considered for employment.
