Driver of Kagadi LC5 Chairman Remanded for Knocking Dead Protestor

The Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court sitting in Kagadi town council on Tuesday remanded the driver of the Kagadi LCV chairman one Stephen Tibihikira to Mambugu government prison over causing death through reckless driving.

Tibihikira aged 38 years is a resident of Kitema Village, Mugalike Parish, Kyenzige Sub County in Kagadi District

The court presided over by his worship Edward Kayukyi heard that on February 26, 2024 around 9:30AM at Igurika Cell Muhorro Town council while driving the Kagadi LC5 Chairman Ndibwami B Yosia and other occupants in the vehicle registration number UG 6998L along Muhorro-Bwikara-Ndaiga Road caused the death of Tuhaise Magezi aged 25, a resident of Rwensonzi Village Mairirwe sub county as a speed which was dangerous in public.

In dock the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges which compelled the presiding magistrate to remand him to Mambugu government prison till March 26, this year when he will reappear before the same court.
