The National Resistance Movement – NRM party electoral commission chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi is set to meet the seven candidates vying for the party flag ahead of the Hoima LCV by-election.
According to sources, the meeting will be held this morning at Hoima Kolping Hotel.
The meeting comes just hours after six out of seven candidates contesting in the NRM by election primaries suspended campaigns over allegations of violence in the joint Campaigns.
Vincent Savanna Muhumuza, Jackson Mugenyi Mulindambura, John Kwemara, Samuel Kyakadongo, Moses Mutagwa and Yunus Mugabe have this afternoon told a press conference at Kolping hotel that they had suspended the campaigns.
The other contender in the race, is Uthman Mugisa.
Speaking during a joint press conference the six candidates said that they took the decision to move out of the campaigns after they observed several anomalies in the campaigns including voter bribery, ferrying of non-voters from Hoima city to campaign venues and chaos among others saying the playing field is not leveled.
