Hoima Oil City Resident Commissioner Samuel Kisembo Araali has threatened to close down any market facility if vendors refuse to sleep there as per the presidential directive on Covid-19 fight.

According to him, they are distributing mosquito nets to all market vendors at Hoima Central Market, Duhaga Roundabout market and Kikuubi market to ensure that vendors starting sleeping at work beginning tonight.

However, a section of vendors last night vowed not to sleep at Hoima central market demanding that they first be tested for Covid-19, address limited sanitary facilities like toilet, urinals, and bathrooms among others.

Some vendors have tasked the covid19 taskforce to provide the market with the necessary equipment to test people using the market.

But Kisembo warns the vendors against taking the presidential directive for granted as he ordered them to start sleeping in the market in order to control the spread of the virus or else the market facilities will be closed.
