Grief engulfed residents of Kiraba Lower village in Kagadi town council Kagadi District on Saturday after a dog was seen carrying a head of a baby from the bush.

At around 1pm, residents found a stray dog running from the bush with the baby’s head.

Residents suspect that the baby had been dumped by her mother shortly after delivery in a bush. The residents then chased the dog until it dropped the head near the local council one chairperson’s court yard.

The residents could not also establish the source of the head and the whereabouts of other body parts. The baby is believed to have been days old.

The chairperson Kiraba Lower village Wilson Murumba says he received a call from a neighbor informing him about the incident. Irumba condemned the act and urged residents to mount a search for the woman behind the heinous act.

Meanwhile, the OC operations at Kagadi central police station Simon Peter Imai says police has started investigations into the incident adding that the search for the woman is on.

The remains were taken to the mortuary at Kagadi hospital.
