Harriet Businge, the Incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Hoima district, has lost the NRM flag. Businge lost the primaries to Beatrace Wembabazi aka Teacher Mummy.<\/p>\n
The long-awaited results were declared on Monday night by Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Chairperson of the NRM electoral commission, while at NRM offices in Kyadondo in Kampala.<\/p>\n
According to the election results, Wembabazi polled 13,795 votes, representing 39% while Businge garnered 11,407 votes, representing 32%. Suzan Asiimwe emerged in the third position with 10,337 votes representing 29%.<\/p>\n
Initially, the Hoima district registrar, Joseph Kutegeka, had declared two winners for the same seat, which was confusing.<\/p>\n
On July 17th, 2025, Kutegeka had initially announced Beatrace Wembabazi, also known as Teacher Mummy, as the winner with 19,598 votes (44.8%).<\/p>\n
Her closest rival, Harriet Businge, the incumbent MP, had polled 13,844 votes (37.8%), while a third candidate, Susan Asiimwe, received 10,225 votes (23.3%).<\/p>\n
However, shortly after the declaration, Kutegeka reversed his position and announced Businge as the winner, assigning her the same vote count\u201419,598 (44.8%)\u2014that he had initially attributed to Wembabazi.<\/p>\n
