We will not tolerate such acts of environmental sabotage,\u201d SP Kaggwa stated.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The National Forestry Authority (NFA) recently restored 100 hectares of bamboo and 150 hectares of indigenous tree species in Bugoma Central Forest Reserve, which spans approximately 41,144 hectares. The destruction of 40 hectares of bamboo is a major setback in the Authority\u2019s conservation and restoration drive.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Aldon Walukamba, Communications and Public Relations Manager at the NFA, praised the swift response by police and local leaders.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cWe commend the vigilance of both the police and local communities. Their prompt action is a strong message that Ugandans are increasingly taking ownership of forest protection,\u201d Walukamba noted. \u201cConserving Bugoma is not just about trees\u2014it\u2019s about climate resilience, biodiversity, and the well-being of future generations.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The suspects will be charged under relevant forestry and environmental protection laws as investigations continue.
