Police have withheld the identities of the suspects for fear of compromising ongoing investigations. They are accused of strangling to death Noeline Basemera, a resident of Mugoija village in Kabamba sub-county, Kagadi district.<\/p>\n<p>Basemera went missing from her parents&#8217; home on Saturday last week under unclear circumstances. Her disappearance prompted her parents and residents to launch a search in vain. Concerned for the child&#8217;s safety, they contacted Kagadi police, who quickly initiated a search operation in collaboration with the local community.<\/p>\n<p>However, on Sunday evening at approximately 6 p.m. the lifeless body of the child was discovered in a maize plantation within the same village.\u00a0 The deceased\u2019s father, Gilbert Lwagaliyo, recounted that his daughter went missing while playing with her friends.<\/p>\n<p>Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says that the police recovered the child&#8217;s body, which was subsequently transported to Kagadi General Hospital for a postmortem examination.\u00a0The examinations revealed evidence of bruising on the neck, indicating that she had been strangled to death.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the findings, the police arrested five suspects to aid in their ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By URN The police in Kagadi are holding five suspects in the alleged strangulation of a 4-year-old child.
