{"id":1920,"date":"2020-10-01T06:31:05","date_gmt":"2020-10-01T06:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pearlfm.co.ug\/?p=1920"},"modified":"2022-01-19T12:06:33","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T12:06:33","slug":"football-fans-win-cash-in-samba-ne-mtn-muntabwechallenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spicemedia.ug\/spicefm\/2020\/10\/01\/football-fans-win-cash-in-samba-ne-mtn-muntabwechallenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Football fans win cash in \u2018Samba ne MTN Muntabwe\u2019challenge."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Football fans win cash in \u2018Samba ne MTN Muntabwe\u2019challenge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Samba ne MTN Muntabwe is an exciting football challenge intended to keep football fans engaged ahead of the new SUPL season expected to start soon.<\/li>\n<li>The New exciting challenge is a project of MTN Uganda in partnership with Sanyuka TV that seeks to tap into club passions as supporters of various SUPL clubs take on each other in a display of skills with a cash prize and MTN goodies for the top 4 participants from the various activities.<\/li>\n<li>Participants simply join by sending a one-minute video of themselves doing free style football displays, to Sanyuka TV by WhatsApp. Sanyuka TV will then contact selected people to come and take part in the challenge that airs every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on Sanyuka TV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1923\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1923\" style=\"width: 367px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1923\" src=\"http:\/\/pearlfm.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/MTNs-Barbara-Kiwanuka-hands-over-a-dummy-cheque-to-the-runner-up-300x157.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"367\" height=\"192\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1923\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MTN&#8217;s Barbara Kiwanuka hands over a dummy cheque to the runner up<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Tuesday 29<sup>th<\/sup>September 2020 \u2013 Kampala, Uganda:<\/strong>Rajab Mulindwa a KCCA football fan beat several others to emerge as the first winner in the MTN\u2019s new football fan challenge dubbed \u2018Samba ne MTN Muntabwe.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Sambane MTN Muntabwe is an exciting new challenge organised by MTN Uganda, the official broadcast partner of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league (SUPL) in partnership with Sanyuka TV to keep football \u2018fever\u2019 alive in anticipation of the new StarTimes Uganda Premier league that was interrupted by COVID 19. The new season is expected to start soon.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge seeks to tap into club passions as the participants take on each other in skills display that includes physical dribbles, shot on goal from the 18 yard area and from the centre of the field, penalty shoot outs with participants switching roles as goal keeper and striker.<\/p>\n<p>Other challenges including dribble through cones and shoot on target, fastest dribble, most juggles under two minutes, spinning and then shooting on target and a special segment where a StarTimes Premier League layer challenges the players with a trick.<\/p>\n<p>Rajab garnered the highest points in the challenge earning him UGX 400,000. He was followed closely by ShafiqLumala a supporter of Wakiso Giants FC who walked away with UGX 300,000. Derrick Owor a supporter of KCCA FC and Jimmy Kizza a supporter of Bull FC tied on points for 4<sup>th<\/sup> place and each walking away with UGX 100, 000. All winners were also awarded 3GB of data and other MTN goodies.<\/p>\n<p>The four weeks challenge is broadcast on Sanyuka TV every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Soccer fans can also follow updates on the challenge via the social media pages of MTN Uganda @MTNUG and Sanyuka.<\/p>\n<p>To take part in the challenge, interested participants will be required to record a short video of them doing free style football. The video should include the participant name, theclub they support in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and then go ahead with the football dribble trick.
