The top leadership of Bunyoro Kitara diocese has appointed former Hoima district LCV Chairperson George Bagonza Tinkamanyire as the new Chairperson of the diocesan land board.<\/p>\n
The appointment was made during the Diocesan Council meeting chaired by the Bishop Jacob Ateirweho and the diocesan chancellor Counsel Robert Irumba that sat on Tuesday at the St Peter\u2019s Cathedral Duhaga in Hoima West division.<\/p>\n
Bagonza a resident of Buswekera cell in Hoima West division replaces Edward Asiimwe, who hailed from Buswekera cell as well but passed away last month.<\/p>\n
The board includes its secretary and also diocesan secretary Rev Canon Francis Barongo while the other members include Robert Irumba, the diocesan Chancellor, Muhanuzi Geoffrey, the Diocesan Land and Estates officer, Hon Robert Nkwasibwe, Solomon Kahuma Businge, Rev. Benoni Turyamuguna, Rev Jackson Kyamanywa\u00a0and Mr George Kajura.<\/p>\n
The diocesan land board is a policy making body working collectively with the bishop and diocesan estates officer in maintaining and managing all lands belonging to the diocese. The board passes resolutions regarding handling squatters of the church land, all donations, titling, hiring among others.<\/p>\n
George Tinkamanyire Bagonza, brings his experience in leadership and public service to the important crucial responsibility within the Diocese of overseeing its land as cases of encroachment being reported across dioceses in the country.<\/p>\n
The Bunyoro Kitara Diocese has congratulated Hon. George Tinkamanyire Bagonza upon his appointment and wishes him wisdom and success as he takes on this new responsibility.<\/p>\n
