He died on the spot after the motorcycle he was riding, registration UG 0414U, fell while he was reportedly over-speeding at 11pm on Monday\u00a0night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to police, Okidi was riding home from Buliisa Trading Centre when the accident occurred. His body was later taken to Buliisa Hospital for a post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Speaking to journalists, Mugisa Solomon, the Community Liaisons Officer and Acting PRO Albertine North, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">He said investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mugisa urged all road users to desist from over-speeding, drink-driving, and riding without helmets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">He noted that preliminary investigations indicate that most crashes in the region are caused by over-speeding and riding while drunk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Police have called on riders, especially those moving at night, to observe traffic rules to prevent further loss of lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Flavia Ajok Police in Albertine North region are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a prison officer in Buliisa after his motorcycle crashed due to alleged over-speeding.
