The event was presided over by Gumtwero J Olal, the Chief Magistrate of Masindi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Speaking to journalists shortly after taking oath, Wobusobozi pledged to work closely with the district council and local communities to ensure improved service delivery across the district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">He highlighted key priorities including extension of water and electricity services, rehabilitation of roads, and monitoring of government projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Samuel Ruhweza Kaija, the Chief Administrative Officer of Masindi, commended the cooperation that existed between the outgoing leadership and the council and pledged continued collaboration between the technical team and the new political leadership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ruhweza also urged the new leaders to embrace consultation, seek technical guidance, and carry out research before making decisions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cosmas Byaruhanga, the outgoing district chairperson called for unity and cooperation among leaders. He also apologized to anyone he may have disagreed with during his tenure, saying his actions were aimed at improving service delivery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meanwhile, Patrick Bright Tibigambwa (Independent), councilor representing Mirya Sub County, was elected Speaker of the District Council after defeating Simon Byaruhanga of the NRM party representing Pakanyi Sub County by 24 votes to 14.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wobusobozi also named his executive committee, appointing\u00a0Cleophas Bigirwa, the male councilor representing Karujubu Division as the district Vice Chairperson, Inelda Asaba, female councilor for Bwijanga Sub County as the secretary for finance, William Mwambu, male councilor representing the PWDs as Secretary for Social Services and Brigt Mugume, male councilor representing Kimengo Sub County as Secretary Works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Edward Byamukama Hon Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga, on Wednesday was sworn in as the new LC5 Chairperson of Kibaale District, retaining his seat for a second term in office.
