Hoima East division council has Wednesday approved a budget for the financial year 2026\/27 worth UGX 1.5 billion Uganda.<\/p>\n
This was during a council sitting held at Hoima Resort Hotel in Hoima East division as the current council concluded their sitting for their term of office ahead of the new council in May.<\/p>\n
The budget estimates were presented before the council by Hon Alice Nyangoma, the female councilor for Kicwamba ward and also the division deputy mayor and leader of government business in the council noting that the budget is expected to be financed by locally raised revenues which is projected at UGX 1.4 billion following UGX 1.13billion which were collected in the current financial year.<\/p>\n
According to the approved budget for the financial year 2026\/27, Administration department, Health department, Education and works departments have taken the lion\u2019s share of the budget.<\/p>\n
Banabas Tugume, the Assistant RCC Hoima East division revealed that more funds have been allocated to tarmack several roads due to the forthcoming AFCON games. Tugume urged the leaders with lower and top leaders to sensitize the locals on the implementation of the UCMID program where the construction of roads doesnot contain the element of compensation.<\/p>\n
Bosco Muhanuzi, the Hoima East division Mayor revealed that more funds said the implementation of the budget will start from the most affect areas in terms of roads. He welcomed the tarmacking of roads under the plan of hosting AFCON games urging members of the public to welcome and support these projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
