Police in Kakumiro district are investigating attacks by panga welding men who attacked four family members in the district.<\/p>\n
Speaking to reporters at his office on Monday afternoon,\u00a0SP Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Albertine south regional police\u00a0spokesperson disclosed that\u00a0the affected family belongs to Mr. Geoffrey Muganyizi a resident\u00a0\u00a0Rwensere B cell in Kakumiro trading center. The incident occurred at around 11:30PM.<\/p>\n
Hakiiza says a team of detectives led by the district police commander with help of canine unit tracked the assailants moves which led them to a big stone near the compound of the affected family where the suspects are said to have carried out their planning.<\/p>\n
He adds that some children\u2019s clothes, bags and bread were found at the stone near Ssemwema primary school where tyre marks show a vehicle that first parked and was later driven to the main road. He says they are also reviewing the CCTV footage and interviewing different witnesses as investigations into the matter continue.<\/p>\n
The Regional spokesperson has appealed to the members of the public to assist police with information and remain calm as security does it work.<\/p>\n
