Ahead of Tarehe Sita celebrations, the Bunyoro UPDF Deputy Cluster Commander, who also doubles as the Hoima City Cluster Commander, Major General Leopold Kyanda, has today kicked off the official commissioning of a series of Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) on behalf of the Bunyoro UPDF Cluster Commander, Major General David Isimbwa.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued this morning, Captain Patrick Atwooki, the head of media for the cluster says these community-focused initiatives, part of the annual Tarehe Sita celebrations mark the founding of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, including the construction and rehabilitation of boda boda shades for motorcycle taxi operators and multiple clean water sources such as boreholes, shallow wells and protected spring wells.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of 17 projects will be commissioned over two days, benefiting residents across various wards in Hoima City by providing shelter from weather elements and improved access to safe drinking water\u201d Captain Atwooki has disclosed.<\/p>\n

This morning, Maj General Kyanda started from Kyesiga cell in Hoima West division in which he has commissioned a Boda boda shade at Katasiha (Mika Stage); two shades at Katasiha trading centre, Borehole in Kyesiiga; a borehole and shade in Parajwoki and spring well in Nyakititi.<\/p>\n

He will also commission a spring well at Itara near Power Substation in Kibingo ward before he heads to Bujuura and Kiduuma wards to commission a shallow well.<\/p>\n

Captain Atwooki says as UPDF they are committed to civil-military cooperation and supporting community development in the Bunyoro sub-region.<\/div>\n
