All schools across the country have successfully submitted Continuous Assessment (CA) and project scores ahead of the start of the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations on Monday, according to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).<\/p>\n
UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule confirmed the development in an interview with URN on Friday afternoon, saying all registered candidates have met the requirements under the new competence-based curriculum, which include CA and project work.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have 100 percent submission for all schools because it was a major requirement for registration. Candidates could not be allowed to register without a record of CA scores,\u201d Kalule said.<\/p>\n
Her remarks eased earlier fears that some schools might fail to meet the requirement due to the teachers\u2019 strike that disrupted the second and third terms. Under the new system, Continuous Assessment contributes 20 percent of the final grade, and every candidate must also complete a project. Both are mandatory components.<\/p>\n
A student who passes the written examination but lacks CA or project scores will not be awarded the UCE certificate.<\/p>\n
On Friday, schools nationwide conducted candidate briefings to go over examination rules and regulations. Some held sessions in the morning, while others convened in the afternoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
