Former Procurement Officer Wins Masindi District NRM LCV Polls

Godfrey Byarugaba, the former Masindi District Procurement Officer, has been declared the flag bearer of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the position of Masindi district LCV Chairperson seat.

The official results announced by the party district returning officer Mr. Moses Ogwang reveal that Byarugaba obtained 15, 276 votes representing 47% of the total vote while his closest rival Patrick Wobusobozi polled 11, 537 votes representing 35% of the total vote.

Other contenders in the race are David Kyetume Kasanga who garnered 4,486 votes and Moses Kirya with 1,193 votes.

Meanwhile, Rogers Amanyire was also declared as the duly elected NRM flag bearer for Mayor Masindi Municipality ahead of the general elections.

Amanyire polled 7,691 votes while Ronald Businge Kyomuhendo who came second obtained 1,950 votes. Milly Mateeba Muhumuza came third with 822 votes. Other contenders are Geofrey Mukuru who got 723 votes, Robert Mugabe with 340 votes and Patrick Abitekaniza with 15 votes.
