Residual NRM Party Structure Elections Held in Hoima City

Voting for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) LCI Chairperson Flag bearer and party structures resumed on Wednesday at four polling stations in Hoima City where the activity was postponed due to disagreements that resulted into chaos. The cells include; Bubaale North, Busiisi East, Buswekera South and Kasingo.

At Busisi East cell in Hoima East division, Godfrey Mbabazi the incumbent won the party flag with 83 voters followed by Jackson Busobozi 19 votes and Kunihira who got only two votes.

Speaking to Spice FM, Godfrey Mbabazi commended the supporters for their supports and committed to offer improved service delivery in the area.

At Kasingo cell, in Kasingo ward, Hoima West division, the voting exercise moved on smoothly with the election officials strictly following the party register to ensure only members in the register participate in the voting. The contestants included Frank Monday, Busobozi and Osborn Nsiimire with the exercise taking place inside the fence of Hoima West police station behind Hoima district headquarters.

Nsimire who won the party flag commended the free and fair voting exercise compared to how things had moved on the previous day and pledged to work towards uniting the locals.

Grace Kiiza Katusabe who was elected as the NRM Chairperson Women league for Kasingo Ward called for unity among women in the cell adding that she will focus on strengthening families to ensure children go to school and starting of projects at household levels.

At Buswekera South Cell, two candidates remained in the race; Jackson Karungi and Bosco Wamani after Kazoora Tinkamanyire Godfrey withdrew just hours to kick-off of the voting exercise. Mr.Jackson Karungi ended up securing the flag ahead of 2026 general elections.
