Leaders in Bunyoro region have been tasked to lead a campaign of ensuring the new Hoima Regional Blood Bank that has been constructed in Hoima City turns out as a key impactful infrastructure in the region.
The USD3 million World Bank funded blood bank will be opened and commissioned officially on Friday afternoon with a capacity to process all blood and its products, – a solution to all blood shortage challenges in the region.
Now, speaking exclusively to Spice FM, Gilbert Sunday Abwooli the Blood Bank Coordinator has implored leaders to mobilize communities using all the possible platforms about the presence of the blood bank in order to attract more blood donors.
Sunday discloses that village and religious leaders as well as politicians should lead through to ensure the bank becomes a successful project in the region.
The coordinator for the Hoima regional blood bank says the facility is for the locals welcoming everyone to walk in and donate blood.
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja is expected to officiate the commissioning of the blood bank joined by ministers and other ministry of health officials.
