Hoima City’s secretary for production marketing on spot for swindling 126 million shillings from driver’s SACCO.
The Hoima East division male city councilor and Hoima city’s secretary for production and marketing Iddi Magezi has been accused of swindling a whopping 126 million shillings from the Kinubi Drivers Cooperative Society.
The drivers claim that Iddi withdrew 36 million shillings from their Emyooga SACCO account and another over 90 million shillings from the Kinubi Drivers Cooperative Society for the past 7 years that they had saved.
Muzamiru Aheebwe Ayubu, the treasurer of the cooperative society has stated that they no longer want Iddi involved in their finances labelling him a mafia and untrustworthy.
Another driver, Mugisa Deo David has also voiced his frustration over Iddi’s alleged mishandling and swindling of their funds.
In response, Iddi attributed the accusations to political fights calling himself innocent
The Hoima city resident city commissioner Badru Mugabi says he is handling the issue amicably.
