Shock has engulfed residents of Kagooke cell in Buhimba Sub County in Kikuube district after a man in his 40s committed suicide over unknown reasons.
The deceased has been identified as Godfrey Biingi, a resident in the area who has been riding a boda boda, staging at the front side of Hoima Central market in Hoima City.
Information available shows that the deceased has been taking care of his mentally sick child at the mental facility of Hoima regional referral hospital, however, he had been advised to also consider praying for the child from their home, a decision he had welcomed.
Now on Thursday, the deceased together with the brother who was carrying the sick child begun on a journey at around 10am to their home in Buhimba town council, however, the deceased used less than 10 minutes to reach home riding at a high speed, something that raised concerns from the residents if all was okay.
Tomas Kaberenge, one of the leaders in the area says, upon reaching home, he began raising concerns of how the situation at home is worsening, however when the rest of the family members begun to pray for his sick child, the deceased is said to have used the opportunity to pick a bedsheet from the bedroom and use it to hung himself from a coffee tree in their compound.
Kabelenge says the relatives after praying for the child, they began looking for the deceased only to find him hanging on a coffee tree in their compound.
Paul Kunihira, a resident in the area says they are shocked to learn about the suicide act in their area adding that he has been unstable for some time complaining of several issues.
Police detectives from Buhimba arrived at the crime scene to kick off investigations and allowed the relatives to proceed with the burial arrangements.
