A 25-year-old man has been allegedly murdered by his girlfriend over a family misunderstanding in Kagadi town council in Kagadi district.
The deceased is Gerald Sserwagi, a resident of Kyomukama Ward in Kagadi town council, Kagadi district while the girl friend has only been identified as Ketty, a resident in the same area.
John Kyaligonza, the LCII Chairperson, Kyomukama Ward has revealed that the couple had been in a romantic relationship for nearly six months.
According to Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson, Sserwagi was stabbed to death by the girlfriend following a quarrel at Kyomunembe trading center on December 26, 2024, at 0100hrs over unknown family issues.
Hakiiza says they have registered a case of murder and investigations into the incident are underway adding that the suspect, who is the girlfriend to the deceased is currently at large and now urges anyone with information about her whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
He adds that the deceased’s body has been taken to Kagadi General Hospital for a postmortem examination
