Hoima district local government has secured a land title for the proposed new district headquarters that will be situated in Birungu parish Kitooba sub county, the district chairperson has revealed.
Speaking to Spice FM in an interview, Uthuman Mugisha Mubarak, says the district has secured several land titles for the district markets, health facilities and the one, where the new district headquarters will be constructed in the near future.
Mubarak says with the land title in place, they have now kicked off the process of benchmarking to arrive at the best structural plan, such that the district can commence the construction works as they prepare to leave the Kasingo headquarters in the city.
He says, they want to construct a modern building which is equal to the Kasingo headquarters or even better and this will only be possible through identification of the best structural plans.
Hoima district council approved the elevation of Kitoba Sub County to a town council status in August this year, to pave way for the relocation of the district headquarters from Kasingo to Birungu parish, in the district.
