Kagadi police is hunting for unknown assailants who attacked and robbed a businesswoman of her 3.5million shillings.
The assailants who are said to be armed, robbed a businesswoman identified as Justine Asiimwe, 35 years, a resident of Katooma cell, Kyenzinge town council in Kagadi district.
It is alleged on October 27, at around 8:30pm, Asiimwe arrived at her home on a boda boda from her boutique business, which is located in Kyenzige town and at about one 1km away, the victim was immediately attacked by three masked men who were suspected to be armed with a rifle and batons.
The assailants later kicked her down as they attempted to open the door to enter and remove the bag which contained cash and other valuables.
Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Albertine regional spokesperson, says the three men stole 3.5million shillings and a smart phone from the woman and ran off immediately to unknown destination.
Hakiiza says the victim later alerted the neighbors, who later recovered a smartphone from a sweet potato plantation which is nearby her home.
He says the case was later reported to Kyenzige police post and no suspect has been arrested. He adds efforts are on to identify and recover the gun that was used to rob the woman.
