Parents in Hoima Told to Protect to Their Children Amidst Escalating Cases of Child Abuse.

Parents in Hoima City have been urged to offer protection to their children given their vulnerability and the increasing cases of child abuse.

The call was made by Reverend Father Deogratias Rubagumya while leading a mass to dedicate P7 Pupils of St. Jude Nursery and Primary School Hoima city where 49 others also received their first holy communion.

Rev. Fr. Rubagumya stressed that some parents are perpetrators of child abuse, with some even sacrificing their children for wealth.

Hoima West Division Assistant Resident City Commissioner, James Kashaya, echoed the importance of parental protection, particularly for students sitting for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) next month.

Caroline Nyamahunge, Hoima City Inspector of Schools, praised St. Jude Nursery and Primary School for providing quality education in the region.

Noelene Nsungwa, the school’s director, encouraged the 95 P7 candidates to be confident and prepared for exams, noting that their teachers have fulfilled their responsibilities.

Today’s mass marked the celebration of the school’s 29th anniversary since its establishment, with this being the 25th candidate class and 49 Christians confirmed into the Catholic faith
