Kagadi police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that claimed the lives of two people and left three others seriously injured.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson reveals that the accident occurred on Sunday October 20, 2024 at around 1:30pm in Nyamanga village, Muhooro involving a motor vehicle registration number UBD 281D driven by Henry Byaruhanga which was coming from the Kyenjojo side.
He adds that the accident occurred as the driver attempted to overtake a truck which was carrying cows but lost control hence overturning multiple times killing two people on spot.
Hakiza has identified one of the deceased as Henry Ssenyonyi, aged 19 years, a resident of Kyatika in Kagadi town council while the details of the second person remained unknown by press time. The injured persons were identified as Gadson Byamukama, 30, Wenslus aged 25, and Anatoli Mwesigye aged 35 years.
He says the injured are currently receiving treatment at Kagadi general hospital.
