Close to 50 families are living in fear of being evicted after discovering a land title is being  processed on their ancestral land.

The land in question is located on plot No. 34 E/2/0879 in Kicaaya Cell, Kigorra ward, Kikuube town council, Kikuube district, in the names of Kalenzi Elijah.

Edith Barungi, the female councilor representing people with disabilities at Kikuube district council, reveals that the said families were on the list of those in line to get free land titles from the government, but this cannot go on, especially when there is another process of a land title on going.

The Kikuube RDC Amlan Tumusiime has vowed not to let the land title be processed if it’s meant to displace people.

He has further advised those who want to acquire land titles for their land to go through proper and known procedures.
