Hundreds of Rwenzuzuru Kingdom subjects on Friday converged in Kasese to welcome Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere.
Mumbere was returning to Kasese for celebrations of his 58th coronation anniversary due next week.
Hundreds lined up in Kikingo-Rugendabara, Hima Town Council, Mubuku Town Council and Kasese municipality to welcome Mumbere.
Juliet Best Bakoko, the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Minister for Gender, Rehabilitation and Disability Affairs, says the King has been in Kampala to perform other key Kingdom duties and he was expected to travel back ahead of the coronation anniversary.
She applauded the subjects for the love exhibited and rallied them to support the celebrations.
Goretti Mbambu, a resident of Mubuku Town Council says it is always a joy for her and her family to participate in kingdom activities, especially in the presence of their King.
This year Mbambu says she is contributing 30,000 shillings towards the coronation anniversary.
“It’s exciting of course to have our King again for a second year running with us to celebrate the birth of our kingdom,” Mbumbu said.
Meanwhile, Joseph Muranga, the Kingdom’s Prime minister has decried the low resources so far mobilized.
He says they have collected less than 10 million Shillings out of the budget of 400 million shillings. He asked leaders in the district to aid the mobilization efforts.
This year’s event, which will also mark 15 years since the kingdom’s official recognition by the government, is scheduled for October 19 at Kilembe Golf Course in Kasese Municipality.
