Four family members in Namutumba district have died after their grass-thatched house caught fire.
The incident happened on Tuesday in Buyoboya village, in Bulange sub-county.
The deceased include; Ezimaface Were aged 30 years and his 25-year-old wife, Annet Namuyangu. The others are the couple’s two daughters Judith Babirye aged 10 years and four-year-old Slyvia Bamukisa.
Ismael Ngobi, a resident says that he noticed smoke coming out of Were’s house in the morning, prompting him to sound an alarm, which attracted neighbouring residents.
Baraka Gampaire, another resident suspects that the family members might have been torched by unknown people over unclear circumstances.
Police crime scene officers were seen cordoning off the area.
